Jag inleder ofta dagen med att kolla in The New York Times (e-tidning). Det är lätt att inse att Donald "You Are Fired" Trump ger de amerikanska mediehusen goda dagar; det råder aldrig brist på material från Vita huset som Trump förvandlat till ett underhållningscenter som helt underminerar USA:s anseende ute i världen.

Lika läsvärda är läsarnas kommentarer, här ett exempel:

" - - - Now that more and more Americans are coming to grips with what the majority of voters already seemed to know about Mr. Trump--a man bankrupt of tact, kindness, and honor, to say nothing of leadership skills--we look with hopeful expectation to the rest of our system. If this man stays in office for the next three and a half years, will the ship of state be able to steer itself with a mannequin at the rudder? Can others pick up the slack and see us to the next election? Can the executive be systematically ignored and unempowered while adults in the legislative and judicial branches shoulder his responsibilities? Consider it a stress test of our democracy. In that way, and only in that way: thank you, Trump voters."
