You often hear photographers complaining that modern camera manufacturers have gone "megapixel mad" and that the MP race is all about marketing. This view seems particularly strong in some user groups with the opinion that 12 MP is enough for a FF DSLR. But as has been shown in a number of articles, this view is unscientific.
