Varför auktionera bort en kamera man äger för att köpa en likadan ;P
sorry.
i put my 5D up for auction on ebay. but, after reading this thread, i have cancelled the auction of the 5D.
here is my problem:
in August, i photographed a wedding and reception. my favorite lens is the 24-105 f/4 L. (i have a 50mm f/1.4, but its AF is useless in low light.) at the beginning of the wedding, i changed from my 5D to my 40D, because the 1.6 crop brought my 24-105 lens "closer" to the subject.
but, i was very unhappy with the noise in the shadows (especially skin tones).
two weeks ago, i photographed a birthday party with my 40D and a 50mm f/1.2 L lens (i rented it). i set the Av to f/1.4. i was still unhappy with the shadow noise, AND, at f/1.4, if there are two or more people in the picture, if one person is in focus, the others will be out of focus.
a week ago, i photographed a film exhibition in a small club. i used my 5D. i was unhappy that i was not "closer" to the subjects with my 24-105mm f/4 lens. and, after cropping in PS CS3 to get closer, i was unhappy with BOTH the shadow noise and the low resolution.
last friday i photographed another birthday party. i used my 40D and my 24-105 lens. i am still unhappy with the shadow noise.
i believed Canon's promise of 1.5 more stops with the 50D. (i thought: after the 1DIII fiasco, how could they make another big mistake?)
now i fear that the 5DII will also be a disappointment.
i need another 1-2 stops!
