Fokus problem har alla märken, inte för att det gör det lättare att stå ut med....
Har bakfokus problem med min Sony a700 och här är lite email växling med Sony i UK:
Hello Andrew
Same problem with the lens I bought from you, still back focuses.
Sony here in Sweden says it can be both the camera and the lens. They say if it is the body and they calibrate it for this lens, it won’t focus correctly with the other lenses I have and that’s the way it is?? They wouldn’t listen to my argument that this lens is a “top of the line” lens and also a former flagship camera body (a700). I won’t accept this as all my equipment is Sony and should work in harmony. They also say the 1635z has it’s shortcomings, and I told them I agree (vignetting, depth of field, flare and even focus falloff further away from the centre) but it should focus spot on with no exception if I use the centre spot focus area. This is not a shortcoming but a fault.
Another camera workshop says this isn’t the case, it is possible to calibrate both the body and the 16-35 and the body still will be “spot on” with my sal 24-70z, sal 70-200g and also the sal 50 2.8 macro.
Which do you believe? I don’t know.
Hopefully you can enlighten me on this matter.

Hi Gareth
I have some feedback from Sony Technical Field Sales Manager, Imaging regarding the lens. Have a read and let me know what we can do regarding the lens, but in my humble option the A850 would solve all.
The lens must be returned for checking and adjustment of the body. The lens is not the adjusted part.
Once the adjustment is made in the algorithm of the camera AF it is used every time that lens is attached. It is ignored for other lenses, so this is not a factor.
The lens has an encoder chip that has the preference saved to it. When the camera and lens are used in conjunction the adjusted setting bias is used.

Hi Andrew
This makes me happy and it looks like this is not a big problem to fix.
I have contacted Sony here in Sweden and they agree with what the “technical field sales manager UK” has to say.
They have had a water leak so their equipment is damaged and they don’t know when they will have this sorted.
I’ll be sending the lens and body to them if it doesn’t take to long for them to get things sorted, but if it does, can I send them to you in England?
Both items are under “European warranty”.
Sen köpte jag faktiskt en Sony a850 och där justerar kan man justera fokusen. Mina objektiv är "spott on" nu men det var bara 50/2.8 makron som stämde.
Mitt sista email
Hello and merry xmasJ

Great camera, but I’m still keeping my a700 and will send it off for adjustment.
