Built in the 1840s, this unique Grade II listed building is owned and managed by a descendant of a renowned family of traders. Situated opposite the , the building looks a little shabby on the outside but has stood the test of time as one of the few structures in the area to survive the Second World War. Rich in history and tales of smugglers, the decor has a definite West African influence. Each brimming with character, there are three drinking and dining rooms and a varied menu of traditional dishes are served daily. If you see strange visions at closing time it may not be just the beer as the rumour is it's haunted.
