You should think of the RAW as NEGATIVES - you burn the RAW to a CD or DVD, - at least two copies - remember - these are your negatives and need to last - and the RAW are a lot smaller than the processed image you get when processing the RAW in PhotoShop or whatever program you use for the precessing/conversion.
So you first burn the RAW original fils - then process the RAW into PSD and/or Jpg like I do at the same time - then you work with the PSD file and finish off the image working in Photoshop...
