Jag har en liten webbplats om den gamla Kodak boken "How to Make Good Pictures" (http://sites.google.com/site/kodakhtmgp).
Tack för all hjälp.

Jag har inte hittat några bilder, men det verkar det kan finnas svenska utgåvor kallas "Bättre bilder. En modern vägledning för amatörfotografer."
Har någon fått någon information? Tack.

Maybe you can get some help from this link:
http://www.bodaforsantikvariat.se/
and chose /Hobby/Foto Bild

Thera are two books which may be of interest for you:
Eastman Kodak Company / Fotoglädje Att lyckas med sin kamera from 1980
and
Eastman Kodak Company / Mera fotoglädje Att lyckas med sina bilder from 1981

Thanks for the link, Sten. I can check there occasionally.
They also have 2 of the Battre Bilder books - but no pictures unfortunately!

According to the Swedish library database "Libris" (http://www.libris.kb.se/) there is two editions of this book, one printed in 1939 and one printed in 1941 (probably just a reprint). It contains 245 pages and was published by Norstedts and translated by Ove Lind. However the database does not state any info of the original but I found a ad for this book on the swedish book trading site Bokbörsen stating that the book was indeed released by Kodak (but still published by Norstedts)

Searching for the original title on Libris I found another book which may be of interest. It is called "Hur man fotograferar : en handbok för fotoamatören" ( ≈ "How to photograph: a handbook for the photo amateur".) It contains 254 pages and was translated by Hugo Ahlén and published by Hasselblads Fotografiska AB in 1953. I also found an ad for this book at the same site (Bokbörsen) which states that the original title was "How to Make Good Pictures", the ad also contain an image of the cover (see sources)

So to me it seems that both "Bättre bilder. En modern vägledning för amatörfotografer." and "Hur man fotograferar : en handbok för fotoamatören" are Swedish versions of "How to make good photographs" although published by two different publishers and translated by two different translators/authors.

Thank you Johan for the interesting information - I think the Joy of Photography was also translated and published in some countries, but it was nowhere near as much of a worldwide phenomenon as How to Make/Take Good Pictures.

A big thank you to Markus too. I had come to the same conclusions as you, and have added some info on Battre Bilder to my website.

I would think there was at least one Swedish version of How to TAKE Good Pictures too, but I can't find any trace of any. There was a Finnish version and a few from Norway (in fact, I've found 13 Norwegian editions altogether!) .

Thank you again for your very kind help.

Alan
