this is the way most "good" companies that sell grey market products work. B&H in the States does the same thing. The only "problem" (if you can call it that) is that you can't just send your camera to the maker (i.e. Nikon, Canon etc..) in your own country and have them repair it under their warranty. Instead you have to pack it up and send it to the country and company that you bought it from. There can also be problems with upgrades, I've heard.
Then, of course, if you buy a camera that you will keep past the insurance period, what do you do when it breaks down then, when the insurance and company warranty has run out?
The whole area is a bit "fuzzy" there, and the major producers are not always very clear concerning their policies..:-(
To make things even more difficult, some of the camera makers have different policies on their digital products than they do on their analogue...
