I hope that you are well and are keeping busy
I am pleased to report that the feedback from the Frankfurt Book Fair was
very possitive and the book is now moving into the second phase. It will be
published by Mitchel Beazley in October 2005.
There will be around 30 featured photographers/stylists from all over the
world.
There is no fee to be included and there is no payment to the photographers
who are featured. We are not in a position to commission new pieces - we
will use existing photographs (either unpublished, private or editorial - as
long as you own the copyright).
Each pre-selected illustrator will have their own 'portfolio' section in the
book (around 6 - 10 photographs across 6 pages). All the images will be
fully credited to each artist and there will be a contacts page with details
for each illustrator. The copyright of the photographs will always remain
with each artist. It is envisioned that the book will act as a directory
for the featured artists and allow them to 'window' their work to a
worldwide audience.
I hope that you still want to join the project now that it has taken off -
it is going to be a very exciting publication. So first things,
first.........
To assist the art director to design the book please can you email over a
small selection of around 6 manipulated photographs. Please remember that
the theme is loosely 'fashion' - although in its broadest sense. We are far
more interested in the digital or computer manipulation of the photographs
than in the fashion content - as long as it is the human figure (either
female or male) - the more radical the better.
Please email them over as low res (72dpi no more than 600 pixels in height).
I will them include these with other artists' photographs that I will be
showing to the Art Director at my next selection meeting.
The Art Director will have the final choice over which artists are to be
featured in the book.
Please can you confirm by email that you want to proceed and get on board
with the project at this stage.
Looking forward to hearing back from you at your earliest.
Best Wishes
Martin
