Just thought of this:

My wife is using her 4S all the time at the U - the bluetooth for controlling KeyNote Presentations in her lessons, taking notes while in meetings and classes - because it is so much faster it is eminently usable as a pocket computer - she often leaves her MacBook Pro at home now..=*^)

Går det snabbare att skriva på en 4S? Det borde väl vara användarberoende. Vad ger Bluetooth 4 för mervärde?

Yes, *Siri* works - what's missing is the "location" data - ie. all the local information, maps, geo physics, restaurants and locations and such.

It'll come but probably not for several months.

In the meantime Siri does everything that doesn't need a *local* location - ie - you can't tell her to "Remind me when I get home that I have to do the laundry" - you can say -remind me at 6 Pm I need to do the laundry - and she'll remind you AT THAT TIME - not when you get within a few yeards of your door..=*^)

If you're in the states you can say: "I am hungry for a Pizza" and she'll tell what Pizza places are around you - she can't do that here yet.

You can also ask her anything (basically) and she'll get the answers from Wolfram Alpha database or the web and present it to you.

You can ask:

What's the square root of 1259 and she'll tell you:

Let me check on that for you - and then - this might answer your question and on the screen is a mathematical presentation of the square root of 1259 as a problem and then the answer - 35.48238999842 and so on..

or ask - what's the distance between Stockholm and Gothenburg - and she will probably tell you: Sorry KG, I can't provide maps and directions in Sweden.

Or she might say - I can't answer that - shall I check the web for you?

Bluetooth means you can wirelessly connect to other Bluetoorh capable devices - Like I said - she links her iPhone (pairs it) to her MacBook Pro and then she can control the MacBook Pro KeyNote presentations. Or you can use a Bluetooth mike that sits on your ear instead of the earbuds and mic..

Okej, ni som har (har haft) iPhone4, är det stor skillnad på iPhone4S i praktiken? Sitter med en fellevererad fyra som jag kan returnera mot en 4S, men samtidigt fick jag ett bra pris om jag väljer att behålla den, så jag vet inte hur jag ska göra. Vad förlorar jag på att behålla fyran? Kameran är jag inte särskilt intresserad av, ska jag fota så har jag andra järn att ta till.

Den nya hanterar data avsevärt snabbare, både internt, och - kanske roligast - surfhastigheten är mycket snabbare. Den öppnar sidorna som en dator, nästan...

i see... if I return this I have to wait for another two weeks at least, possibly four, due to the paperwork. And my old phone has crashed, I am using a spare-phone now, a very simple thing.

The iPhone 4S has an amazing camera for a smartphone. Heck, it’s already the second most popular smartphone camera on Flickr. But how does it hold up for the professional photographer?

As this beautiful testimony by pro photographer and gallery owner Ryan Bolger makes clear, it doesn’t just hold up well… it reinvents photography.


Bolger writes after his first month with the iPhone 4S:

So I’ve been holding out for years. I’ve had an upgrade ever since the original Iphone came out & I decided that I was going to wait until the camera was where I wanted it & knew it could be. The iPhone 4S has changed my creative life in a very big way. The App Store has also opened up my eyes to a whole new creative & visual world. The ability to capture, ratify, & share my creative life with a few simple taps has helped me in my quest of trying to make the world a better place through my art.

Within the first week of my new marriage to this phone I took over 2,000 photographs. I’m amazed at the detail & the versatility of the iPhone 4S’s camera. I’ve even used it on some paid client assignments. That’s how much I trust it as a professional photographer.

I just read an article last night that photography was one of the things Steve Jobs aimed to re-invent. As a guy whose life revolves around photography and has since childhood, you’ve already done this Sir. So thank you Steve Jobs and thank you Apple.

That’s lovely, but don’t take Bolger’s word for it. Check out his Tumblr blog, where the first 250 photos were taken and edited on an iPhone 4S.

You know, it’s true what they say. The best camera is the one you have with you… at least if you have an iPhone 4S.
