Långväga ballong

Idag fick vi som tittade uppåt i skyn se en av Esranges ballonger sakta stiga uppåt och bortåt. Troligen ska den följa med luftströmmar på mycket hög höjd och senare landa i Kanada. Här kan ni som är intresserade läsa mer om dessa projekt: https://www.sscspace.com/services/stratospheric-balloons/

Dear Mats,

many thanks for sharing this great picture! I belong to the scientific team. May I ask you at what time you took this image? I'd like to find out at what altitude it was then. The balloon has reached Greenland today and everything is working fine.

Thank you for your nice and interesting comment!
The picture was shot ca. 12:32 (swedish summertime). I think my camera is off by ca 2 minute. The correct time should be 12:34. The ballonger was located approx. over NW Kiruna city heading maybe in SW-W direction.
