• Southern Africa focus: inaugural head of Archaeology and Anthropology Department at UEM, Mozambique; Doctoral degree University of Oxford; Guest Researcher at Uppsala University; Principal Investigator (Tropical Research Institute) and Professor (ULHT), Lisbon;

• International focus: Deputy Director at the Global Change Secretariat, The Royal Swedish Academy of Sciences, Stockholm; Senior Research Adviser at the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (Sida).

Main scientific interests: environmental science for sustainable development; trans-disciplinarity; science-based innovation; social sciences.

Hobbies: nature photography, travel, Motorbiking.
