Overview of Recommended Hardware for Lightroom:
Processor (CPU)
*A CPU with a high frequency and a medium number of cores (typically between 4 and 6) should provide the best overall performance in Lightroom.
Video Card (GPU)
Lightroom added limited support for GPU acceleration which means*your video card will actually*have an impact on the performance of Lightroom. We recommend a mid-level video card with 2-4GB of VRAM, but if you also work with large images in Photoshop or use a 4K monitor a 4GB video card is a good idea. Also, if*you will be using a 30-bit monitor, you will need a NVIDIA Quadro video card as GeForce cards currently do not support 30-bit display output.*
Memory (RAM)
We generally recommend 16GB as a starting point if possible especially if you will be working with either high resolution or large numbers of images, if you work with very large images (750MB+) in other programs like Photoshop*you may consider*32GB or even more system RAM. Ideally, you want a bit more RAM than you actually need as it will give you room for growth.
Storage (Hard Drives)
A primary SSD is highly recommended for the operating system and the base Lightroom*installation.
