Grace is a thought that can change the world
Grace can be a name of a girl. Grace finds beauty in every face. Grace finds goodness in everyone. Grace is a thought that can change the world. Grace is also the name of a Russian Orthodox Family Center for orphans in St. Petersburg.
Over 2000 of the verses in the Bible encourages us to support orphans, poor people, widows and those who are oppressed. Grace Family Center in St. Petersburg work hard to help young adult orphans to adopt to a normal family life after they graduated from their orphanages. The work is very successful but the Family Center are in a desperate need of money so that they can continue with their important job among orphans and young single mothers.
When I visited Grace Family Center in march 2011, it was like coming home to my own family. Taking photos at Grace was like taking photos of my own family and not of strangers. For orphans who have never had a family of they own, places like Grace Family Center must be worth one's weight in gold. Even if it´s one of my hallmarks to make people feel comfortable in front of my camera, it usually take a while for me to get the pictures that I want. But at Grace that comfortable feeling was right there as soon as i crossed the doorstep.
The work at the Family Center is very successful and according to Valentina who is the volunteer director at Grace Family Center the majority of the orphans and the young mothers who have received help and support has been able to adapt to a normal life. The statistics for other orphans who didn´t get the same opportunities are very dark. Only 10% of them can adapt to a normal life and many of them end up as criminals, prostitutes or homeless.
Although the work at the Family Center is very sucessful, they are in a desperate need of money so that they can continue with their important job among all the orphans and young mothers that are in their care. For the volunteers at the Family Center. Grace is not just a thought that can change the world . Grace is something that they live, breathe and share.

This town is coming like a Ghost Town
Kålgården used to be a pleasant courtyard block area in Jönköping, Sweden. The area was sadly demolished in 1996 to make room for an new area with expensive fine condominiums. I think it´s sad that they didn't renovate and incorporate the old houses in the new area to preserve Kålgårdens original charm. I spent some time documenting the houses at Kålgården for the future before they were totaly demolished by excavators.
I took the nine photos in this collection at the same time and I used a Yashica MAT 124G and only one roll of 120 film. I was a student back then and I couldn´t simply afford to use another roll of 6x6 film. It's hard for me to understand today, but back then in the 1990s my economy was everything but good and I had to economize on everything including film.

I´m thankful for all the gifts that I have been given
I´m very grateful that I have been involved in collecting millions of SKR to people in need with the gifts that I have been given. Helping other people in need is something that I really want to continue to do and something that I´m really good at doing and I hope that I soon will find a new opportunity to work for the least of my brothers and sisters.
I have a clear goal with my work and that is to use my knowledge and the gifts that I have been given in such a effective way as possible so that it benefits other people. This is the foundation that I will have independent of which work situation that I will be given. My personal ambitions are high and even if I can do a good job on my own I strive for being a part of a team that works creative and effective for common goals that will benefit others.
I´m a skilled photojournalist, reporter, public relations officer, editor, graphic designer and I know how to handle social media in a effective way. The only thing that I don´t have is a proper job and I hope that you who has read this text to this point in some way shall be able to provide the link between me and my new job.
Thanks in advance!

How to be a photojournalist
According to the advices from Thomas Vanden Driessche (that you can read in the link below) I really look like a genuine photojournalist and I use the right camera. With that in mind, it's not so strange that I have been working as a photojournalist every now and then. But I shall follow his advice and try to find me a nice vintage leather jacket so that I can get some more assignments :)
